Artist Statement |
I have a visual impairment which prevents me from doing things that others take for granted, and many of my pieces are knocked off the wheel, bumped, scraped, scratched, dropped and otherwise ruined, usually at the final moment!! However this challenge only makes my determination stronger.
I first began working with clay in 1999 having private lessons, then later enrolled in the Ceramics Certificate III course at Coffs Harbour TAFE. From my own experience working with clay has had a positive impact on my health and wellbeing, and while using any form I successfully blur the boundaries of life and escape to a place of my very own. |
