Artist Statement	I work intuitively, influenced by organic forms. The Sculptural Vessels are handbuilt and explore form and its relationship to positive and negative space. The surface treatment is multi layered and textured. I use large brushes to apply slips and terra sigilatta in a painterly fashion, torn and cut stencils and everyday objects to mark and indent the clay. I fire to stoneware using celadon and matt glazes to compliment the forms and decorative surfaces. These sculptural vessels are designed to sit quietly in the garden or to dramatically transform an internal space.
